The Declaration of Independence

I have taken a few excerpts from the Declaration of Independence, and compared them to grievances against our own government today. It may do well this Independence Day to reflect on what it was that made this country break free from England, and consider if those freedoms gained have been retained.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

He refers to King George, but I don’t blame one President, or one ruler for the injustice we have suffered at the hands of the numerous government agencies. The Department of Homeland Security has called my friends terrorists, has blocked roads and demanded that “free” Americans comply with their orders, absent due process. The EPA has fined people without just cause, absent laws, and declared water on private property the U.S. government’s water, even when it falls from the sky. The USDA has raided family farms, bleached their natural food declaring it unsafe, stolen the products of their labor, destroyed their businesses, charged dairy farmers for keeping their milk natural, and killed their livestock.

The ATF has stolen property, sold guns to criminals then used in crimes against Americans, murdered Americans without provocation, along with numerous other agencies of federal, state, and local police forces. All of these injustices against the American people have been paid for by funds stolen from the people themselves. The longest novel would not properly document the multitude of offices created by the government that have been sent out to suck dry the bank accounts of Americans, and harass them for any number of imagined crimes against the state, when in fact no victim exists.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

Our state legislators, State’s that freely entered into a contract called the United States with the belief they could withdraw as freely, have been denied their equal suffrage in Senate since 1913 by the 17th Amendment to the Constitution, thus giving our legislatures no say in the creation of various standing military agencies such as the DHS, CIA, TSA, Federal Bureau of Prisons, and numerous agencies with policing Agents such as the EPA, USDA and over 60 other agencies with federal policing powers in the 50 states.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

Attempts to make United States citizens submit to foreign authorities such as the United Nations, including Agenda 21 which yield individual’s private property rights to the unelected international body.

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

My neighbor’s consent is not my consent. State governments are meant to be superior to the federal government, and State governments have no representation in the federal government due to the 17th Amendment. The Federal government allows the federal reserve to extract money from the American people through interest and inflation, when such decisions are made independent of out “representatives”.

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

Establishing the Federal reserve, the 16th Amendment authorizing an income tax, and the 17th Amendment. The government ignores the right to free speech, the right to bear arms, the right to due process, the right to be secure in our persons, houses, papers and effects, and claiming legal justification for the denial of our rights. The federal government has asserted its control over state governments, and rendered them unable to peacefully leave this “voluntary” union.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

The Selective Service System has kidnapped men during the Vietnam War, the Korean Conflict, World War II and earlier. Most of us are still in the system, and at any time could be taken by this government and forced to fight our brethren, if not at home then abroad. The draft is one of the most unjust forms of slavery that this government has forced on the people who reside within its borders, as any conflict where not enough volunteer soldiers can be found surely fails to meet the democratic standards purported to be the basis of justification that this country may govern us.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us…

This government has turned brother against brother since the “Civil” War, Republican against Democrat, old against young, minorities against majorities, rich against poor, and women against men. They divide us for power, to conquer one piece at a time.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Happy Independence Day.
